Opening DWB.EXE or DISC.BAT using VDMS makes zero change to the game, no sound at all. I checked past threads and it gave no help.
Suggestions?

You wouldn't happen to be using a CD-rip of the game, would you?
No, I am using a bought version. Haven't touched it since my old 200MHZ machine on Win95.
Ah, the second link however fixed my problem! Thank you.
One last thing, can you run the game in a window instead of full screened?

NOPE. NO you can not!
In WinXP you can not run DOS-Games in a WINDOW!
I believe that all NT-based Windows NT/2000/XP cannot run DOS-GAMES in a WINDOW!
Test it! First check your VDMS-Shortcut file or pif-File of Discworld: The Windows-Shortcut "ALT+ENTER" must be enabeld.
Then start Discworld: press "ALT+ENTER" then you can see if it works or not!
With simple graphic/text-modes the screen/windows-switching works.
Test it. Start a "Dos-BOX" C:\ and press "ALT+ENTER"
Unfortunately I had already tried Alt+Enter and it freezes the game, going back full screen unfreezes it.
SciTech Display Doctor wants to write a program that lets you run games in a window in NT/2000/XP, but so far they've been stymied.
I hear they want all games crashing problems fixed in NTVDM before trying to make it. *LOL*

The only way it can be done is with a full PC-emulator like "Virtual PC" or Bochs.
It's VippiN again after a year or more. Same problem! Link no longer seems to work. Help?
