Re: AMD K7 Althon Slot A build (1999)

The 700 MHz Athlon Classic performs well compared to earlier Pentium 3s in AnandTechs test. All Athlon CPUs running at 700 MHz or below are set to a 1/2 L2 cache divider. The Athlon 750 – 850 featured a 2/5 L2 cache divider that resulted in L2 cache speeds ranging from 300 MHz to 340 MHz and the 900 …

Antec PP-303X recap

I just bought an Antec PP-303X PSU for my year 2000 ASUS K7M, AMD Athlon 1GHz Slot A and 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 build. NOS and sealed. Do I need to recap it before I use it or just check inside so no caps are leaking? I know its very old and that there are newer and better alternatives out there but I …

Re: 2001 Dream PC project

You are right according to the reviews of the time, however in my own personal testing - just preliminary - things are looking different! This is an idea for a future project I had in mind: Athlon 1400C tested on Abit KT7A - VIA KT133A with SDRAM PC133; Abit KG7-raid - AMD760 with DDR and Abit KR7A …

Re: 2001 Dream PC project

I think the best platform in 2001 would be AMD760 . Athlon T-bird and DDR make for a perfect match. IMHO SDRAM is limiting the true potential of the Athlon. The 2001 dream PC would be something along the lines: Abit KG7-raid Athlon 1400 512 or 1024mb of DDRAM depending on the operating system you …
