Those jacks propably are just standard headphone and mic jacks, on which you can connect speakers too, and then use the software for your audio device to change them to output stuff to speakers. Google "hd audio front panel". Pretty much thea same as AC'97 connectors, but with extra functionality?

I remember having those issues on some of my old pcs, I never bothered to inspect it further because it seems it does no harm to anything, and is not really annoying either. At least on one computer with Pentium 3 that behavior was there right from the beginning, without any updates installed.

I have successfully used CloneCD to take backups of my game disks http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonecd.html. It can clone pretty much every older game cd with their copy protection intact, so you don´t have to use no cd cracks with properly cloned images.

Short answer: NO! Seems like all the games now are much like canned soup, easy, quick and boring. Seems all we get now are FPS games, which all feel the same, some are just placed in outer space instead some war on earth... Where are the new and wacky ideas? Games nowadays take your imagination, …

Ehh, agp card on a socket 3 machine? 😜 Well, i don´t think that the card would refuse to work with slower processors, but installing the drivers for the card might not work for god knows what reason. If the card is pci i don´t think there is any obstacle putting it in anything that has pci slots

Yes, i think HP used coolers that looked similar in their Alpha based computers. Seems like I can´t find a site that had some info about the Orb and their similarities to HP coolers...

So, I have always used mainly crt monitors in all kinds of gaming over the years and they always have worked perfectly. Now I got some 15 inch HP lcd monitor for free, and started thinking that it might be a good choice for DOS games since they seem to use some low refresh rates which aren´t too fun …
