Hey guys!

Ive installed Windows 3.1 on my DOSBox but I cant load SHARE.EXE as required to install Microsoft Office 4.6 Proffessional. It says "Wrong DOS version" and simply decides not to work at all. Is there something I can do to fool the program into believing it's actually MS-DOS 5.0 I'm running? That's where I got all my common DOS binaries, from those floppies.

Thank's a bunch in advance! 😀

DOSBOX reports itself as MS DOS 5.0. So you can use utilities either from MS DOS 5.0 or FreeDOS (no version checking there).

BUT I think it will not help you here .The file sharing is not implemented in DOSBOX and I think it requires more than running SHARE.EXE in DOSBOX ( at least this was as I understood QBIX some time ago).
In other Words: no MS Office in DOSBOX...

When I tried MS Office some time ago, I was able to install with a fake SHARE.EXE, but the applications crashed when starting.
