Posting a pic of the card below. Trying to get info on it, and drivers for Dos through Win98. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't have drivers but this may help track something down:
Looks like a packard bell version of an aztech card. Nearest I can see on stason is this:
http://www.stason.org/TULARC/pc/sound-cards-m … -SOUND-16A.html
though it's also a bit like one of the [aztech] sound galaxy stellar's.

I bet it'll say "OPTi929" under that label. anyway it's looking a lot like a windows sound system variant, those commonly use CS423X/CS424X chips
You have lost, what did I win?
It is this card: http://mail.lipsia.de/~enigma/neu/pics/aztech … axy_pro16ii.jpg
It is a Aztech Sound Galaxy Pro 16 II old version and the chip is a AZT1605.
Try here for drivers: http://www.mpoli.fi/files/hardware/SOUND/AZTECH/index.html

I have the same card laying over here. Mine had the packard bell stick relabeled. So this card had 2 stickers on the chips.. I had to remove them to find out what chips was underneath it.. So i take an hairdrayer and when the sticker was little bit hot i could peal those stickers off. The first was blanco, the second one was the packed bell one..
I have tried drivers for the Aztech Galaxy BASIC 16, but could not detect the soundcard.. That tiny chip above is an Intel chip..(i thinks its an EEPROM) The sound chip is an AZTECH AZT 2316 501A
Here is mine with the stickers.. I can make an picture without stickers if i have the time.

It would not for sure its the AZT1605, I had removed my stickers and chip says: AZT 2316.. maybe that why there where stickers on it.. So the AZT 1605 could be the same..
And i think i have an new Revision of the Crystal chip:
I have: Crystal CS4231A-KL
> That tiny chip above is an Intel chip..
That's the microcontroller (8051 variant) xD
1+1=10
I tried those drives on my aztech soundcard, but arent the right drivers.. The cards work because of the SET GALAXY and SET BLASTER values.. But when the driver loads the SET VOL settings, its says its soundcard not detect... I think its just a crappy card.. I testing now other drivers. Otherwise trying my new Acer S20 MAGIC.
Diagnose.exe does also not work.. He said, no soundcard found.
use software to detect it.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I am looking for the Sound Galaxy Pro II 16 drivers. The links are broken and driverguide is useless. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Edit:
I found P16IIB-1.ZIP and P16IIB-2.ZIP at ftp://ftp.aztech.com/SUPPORT/DOWNLOAD/sg/P16II/P16IIB-1.zip and ftp://ftp.aztech.com/SUPPORT/DOWNLOAD/sg/P16II/P16IIB-2.zip respectively
hi
the old aztech site can be found on archive.org (1st archive):
http://web.archive.org/web/19961029174722/htt … w.aztechca.com/
there are no downloadable drivers there but lots of hints as to what .ZIP
files you need to plug into google search.
this may not be useful to you now as you have found those files but this
may be of interest to others passing by.
good luck
bye

I tried NSSI
It says that the soundcard is a Soundblaster pro compatible..
And the manufacturer would be Addonics.. And the type would be SOUND VISION.. (I dont which sound vision) because there are more soundvisions
available.. .. But NSSI says it would be compatible to Adlib, sound blaster 2.0 / Sound blaster pro.. (i know it having OPL3 chip so you should do SOUND blaster pro 2.0 as well.. All try it again om my 386 computer.. So i hope it should detected the card beter.. And i can use AIDA16 also.. Windows 98 doesnt take it to work.. And no progress with windows XP either..
I hope i get soon my terminator, so i can get further with my XT PC build.. And getting my SCSI 80MB harddisk running.. I cant wait to get it here.. 😜
~ At least it can do black and white~
Does anyone happen to have P16II-1.ZIP laying around? I can't seem to find a working link of it
hi
this ftp site has it (and every other aztech driver plus lots more besides)
lftp 89.179.18.66:/oldftp/DRV&BIOS/Sound/AZTECH/I38-MMSN822/Sound Galaxy Pro16II - using AZT-1605/Ver 3_0> dir DISK1
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp ftp 974869 Apr 11 2001 p16ii-1.zip
lftp 89.179.18.66:/oldftp/DRV&BIOS/Sound/AZTECH/I38-MMSN822/Sound Galaxy Pro16II - using AZT-1605/Ver 3_0> dir DISK2
-rw-r--r-- 1 ftp ftp 695440 Apr 11 2001 p16ii-2.zip
lftp 89.179.18.66:/oldftp/DRV&BIOS/Sound/AZTECH/I38-MMSN822/Sound Galaxy Pro16II - using AZT-1605/Ver 3_0>
however, it's dead slow and unreliable, you would be unwise to
use a web browser to access it and use an ftp client instead
which auto-reconnects.
bye
PS. I uploaded both disks in one zip here for you since I was
already there:

good luck
It's nice to see so many people coming together and sharing what they know, and what they can contribute.
All I remember about Aztech sound cards are they were good at cloning the Sound Blaster cards. Most of the nomenclature also resemble the Creative's counterparts - e.g. Sound Galaxy, Sound Galaxy Pro, etc. They also bundled good softwares last time. I never owned one but my friend who had the the original Sound Galaxy (Sound Blaster clone) came with good midi programs that I liked.
sklawz, Please can you tell me how to connect to that FTP site? I tried the following actions:
1. I launched Total Commander, an FTP program
2. Inside TC, I clicked on the "Net" drop down menu, and then selected the "FTP New connection" option.
3. Inside the FTP "Connect to" user input field, I typed in 89.179.18.66, then clicked the OK button.
For the Connect to (host or URL) user input field, do I just enter 89.179.18.66? When I click on OK, I get a No response / timeout error message. Thanks a lot for any help on this.
Edit: Partially solved. Instead of entering in 89.179.18.66, I entered in
ftp://89.179.18.66:/oldftp/DRV&BIOS
And that worked, but only once. I left both password boxes blank, and just clicked OK for them. Also, the FTP directory folder area was blank when the connection succeeded. To get around that, I clicked on the .. button. Now I can see some folders to navigate. However, this method seems "hit and miss", because I tried this sequence of actions again, and I can't see any folders to navigate any more.
Edit 2: The problems I am having above may be because the FTP is either slow or unreliable or both. I waited a minute, and tried to refresh the FTP folders area so that I could see some folders to navigate, and that worked. I can now see and navigate the FTP folders.
Edit 3: Do I have to include Total Commander as an "exception", inside Windows firewall? Currently, I have no exceptions allowed.
Edit 4: After many attempts at connecting to this FTP site, and trying to navigate around the folders, I was finally able to download a file. I picked one at random. I was Video/Hercules/Disk1. I scanned the downloaded file called DISK1.ZIP with Avast, and according to this scanner, it contains a virus! The threat reported is Win32:CIH-C.
I uploaded that P16II.ZIP file to the driver library! 😀
