It seems all games are capped at 20 FPS and I can't figure out why.

The host is capable of reaching much higher values and I remember running the same XP VM many months ago without issue.

Does anyone have a solution?

EDIT:

Turns out the "Background Application Max Frame Rate" option of nvidia interferes with VMware. I had it globally set to 20.
