It's from the same team that did the X-Wing TC. Basically, it's the only way to properly enjoy the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter games on modern hardware, as the 3D versions done for the early XP-era don't work properly on modern systems and the Alliance game uses the last version of the same 3D engine used for the 3D versions, with enhancements for Windows XP-era and beyond.

At first i thought it was modding the original TIE FIGHTER dos game to these insane graphics.... but i see now it mods the X-WING ALLIANCE to be as close to the actual TIE FIGHTER game, that 8GB download conversion file though.
