I have been happy with Flashrom 0.9.6.1 and recently I decided to give it an upgrade. The newest version is 0.9.9 but the DOS port seems to be deprecated. You can choose to cross compile under Linux or pick an unstable build from buildbot. I tried some precompiled DOS executables in the pile of buildbot builds and they are all buggy. I fired up wayback machine and found that the precompiled version used to be stored at http://ra.openbios.org/~idwer/flashrom/dos/ before being taken over by buildbot since release 0.9.9. Unfortunately that link appears dead now and wayback machine doesn't keep a copy of it. I googled for hours but couldn't find a copy of official release 0.9.8 for DOS. I wonder if anyone can send me a copy of or a link to it. Thanks.

Is this one helpful? http://buildbot.flashrom.org/buildresults/?M=D

Some of these include DOS builds. They seem to go in chronological order from the beginning of January 2015 on, which apparently predates 0.9.8.

I guess these are the Buildbot builds you're saying are buggy.

http://buildbot.flashrom.org/buildresults/fla … 000166-5f2/dos/ is build r1887 and the only change to release 0.9.8 (r1888) seven minutes later was "Tag flashrom 0.9.8."
