I've bought two of these IDE PCI controller. It is a Promise Fasttrak 66 PCI controller with two IDE ports.
Normally i want to install this card in my AMD K6-2 Retro PC, to have the ability to install more IDE drives. The mainboard has the standard two of them, and because i have a lot of IDE ribbon cables with the standard length, I'm restricted to add devices due to length of the cable, and i have only the max. of two additional devices to the mainboard.

The OS shall be Windows 95b (4.00.950B).
I've downloaded the Promise drivers (version 2.00 and 1.30) but with Win95, i am not able to install the drivers correctly. Anytime, when i set the link to the place where the Win9x drivers are, then windows95 says: The driver for the component was not found.

Actually i have no real idea, what is the problem. I have no interrupt problem, the settings in BIOS are AUTO, and actuall now the Promise card is at IRQ12. This is normally for the PS/2 mouse port, but i have a mouse connected to serial port.

I've just spent three days faffing with my on-board Fasttrak card and finally found a driver on a polish ftp server. Have a try of the one I've attached.

Thanks for this zip-file, but it is not working.

Your drivers are the Ultra33, Ultra66 and Ultra100 PCI controllers from Promise. See here at the end of the setup-ini file:
[strings]
Promise="Promise Technology"
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_4D30&SUBSYS_4D33105A.DeviceDesc="Win95-98 Promise Ultra100 (tm) IDE Controller"
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_0D30&SUBSYS_4D33105A.DeviceDesc="Win95-98 Promise Ultra100 (tm) IDE Controller (PDC20265)"
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_4D38&SUBSYS_4D33105A.DeviceDesc="Win95-98 Promise Ultra66 (tm) IDE Controller"
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_4D33.DeviceDesc= "Win95-98 Promise Ultra33 (tm) IDE Controller"

When i click on setup, Win95 install these Ultra100 (PDC20265) drivers into windows driver database. Selecting this driver with my card will show anyway a question mark in the Sys-Overview.

I am really confused about this situation, that Promise deliver drivers for Win95/98/ME but they are not working with Win95. Maybe there's something wrong with the cards itself???

Here the data from the other drivers i've tried to install but failed.
Driver: Microsoft Windows95-98 miniport driver 2.00.0 (Build 14)
[strings]
Promise="Promise Technology"

PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_4D30&SUBSYS_4D39105A.DeviceDesc="Win9x-ME Promise FastTrak100 (tm) Controller"
PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_6268&SUBSYS_4d68105A.DeviceDesc="Win9x-ME Promise FastTrak100 TX2/TX4 (tm) Controller"

Driver: Microsoft Windows95-98 miniport driver 1.30 (Build 25)
