I can't pull out the connector plug using fingers alone, so I end up by using a pair of pliers, but that is beginning to crush the power plug.

And it makes me 😠 and :sweatdrop:y! 😜

Has happened to me too...I used a thin flat blade screwdrive and and prized the connector carefully out of the socket

Have you tried dynamite? It worked for me 😀 (And made for a nice picture). Mind you, there was some peripheral damage and deformation of the case.
