Yeah i remember the PCX2 needed a bit more grunt than a Voodoo 1 card, I think a PII 266 was the best option for it at the time. I found the PCX2 to have slightly better quality visuals than the Voodoo 1 and a better depth of field making distance textures look a bit sharper 😀

But yes the Voodoo cards have better scaling for use with various CPU's 😎
