I'm very interested in testing an IDE-based flash drive device. I tried searching on ebay for them, with this search string:

ide flash drive

The results seem to show devices with a size associated with them, which was 2.5" Is this correct? (I always associate desktop HDDs with the size value of 3.5") Thanks. 😀

Edit: ebay item # 260372225935 seems promising, however "bestemor", please avert your eyes. 😉 🙁

Incidentally, I did one more test with my ultra100 controller, this time in another ancient 486-based mobo, a Jetway J446B. It worked perfectly. Two elements about this test were interesting: The printed 😮 manual states that the PCI slots are rev. 2.0, but the BIOS may have been flashed to a version dated circa '97. Perhaps this "upgraded" BIOS has allowed the ultra100 controller to function correctly in this mobo?
