I tried installing Apoc with mount c c:\ -freesize 1028
mount d d:\ -t cdrom. didn't work at all.

I've XP SP2 with 7G free nvidia drivers 77.7, 768 MB ram. I'm about ready to give up even tho I really wanna play.

I've been trying to setup X-com Apoc on XP SP2, using Dosbox .63 and Dfend v2.

My PC:

Geforce TI 4600 with 77.72 nvidia drivers
7G free HD space
768 RAM

C-F are hard drives
y is cd (I'm installing from this)
z is dvd

When I use Dbox, I type:

Mount c c:
mount y y: -freesize 1024

DB just freezes at the z: prompt

I have much better success with Dfend. The only problem is that the installer only sees 105 MB free space. I put -freesize 1024 in Dfend > Profile setting tab > setup.exe's Parameters field. That does not seem to make a difference.

Can anyone help me out? Many thanks!!

It could be because you're using a freesize parameter when trying to mount the CD, which doesn't make any sense... Try this:

mount c c:\ -freesize 1024
mount d y:\ -t cdrom

DOSBox C: will be the same as your real C: (hard disk)
DOSBox D: will be the same as your real Y: (CD-ROM)

Then install the game. Then play it. Use those exact mount commands every time.

Strange. DOSbos said the Xcom CE CD is not a DOS file. Yet running setu thru XP doesn't see my HD free space. How do I make the installer see I have gigs of HD space?
