I know a fix was listed for Mech Warrior for Tandy, but even using that video mode, it still crashes after the 3D portion of the game is finished(BTECH in the window title). It just switches to a blank screen with a blinking cursor. The window title lists MW_MAIN as the program running when this happens.

Is there some configuration item I need to adjust/turn off/turn on to fix this?

For the hang after a mission problem, type the command "mpu401=uart" before running the game, or change the setting in your conf file. The Tandy issue fixed in 0.74 is unrelated, and was causing BTECH.EXE to immediately return to MW_MAIN.EXE, which gave you an insta-win with zero damage done to you... no challenge that way.

Another option to avoid the MIDI hang issue is to configure for machine=tandy and use Tandy music by running the game like "MW T". Actually, the MIDI music was intended for MT-32, although it might seem OK on a GM device, but you can try some of the other music options. "MW S" runs the game with speaker music, "MW A" with Adlib music, either of which will also prevent the MIDI hang problem.
