I am trying to run the Monkey Island CD-ROM version, and I can easily mount the BIN/CUE file, launch the games launcher, but then it says it can't find the CD, even though the game runs off the CD.
So I was recomended to use:
-usecd 0 -ioctl
and can't get it to work. Here is what I used:

imgmount d d:\emulation\microsoft\dos\games\d\monkeycd\monkeycd.cue -t iso -usecd 0 -ioctl

I know the game works and all the audio files are there.

Any suggestions then on how I would get this game working using -t iso?

The game uses CD Audio files that won't transfer if I extract the files manually and put them in a folder. The 500+ mb disc image then becomes like 50 mb in a folder. The game will work perfectly then, but I loose the voice and music in game.

Trying this from actually CD and mounting the CD-ROM drive does the same thing. Tells me to insert CD. Even though the game launches from the CD. It is not istalled into the drive.
I know the game works because dumbing the files into a folder works, just no sound or voices since the audio files don't transfer as posted before.

offical release? This is the latest version right out of the main site. 0.72.

Maybe... But where did the config file come from?

Looking at my copy of the dosbox.conf file that came with 0.72 I see these differences:

You have:

memsize=128

I have:

memsize=16

Btw, DOSBox will never make more than 63 MB available so those 128 is meaningless. If you are lucky, you will get 63 MB. If you are unlucky, DOSBox will only look at the first 2 digits and give you 12 MB.

And this section is totally missing from my copy:

I see. I better change it to 64 then if it only reads the first 2 numbers 😳

So, see anything else wrong? I didn't change too much. If I changed something that might cause conflicts or problems, I will change it.

The [VGA] section I got from the DOSBox Wiki somewhere. Might have been from an older version, they kept referring to 0.6 something. I will take it out... I doubt it does anything.

make a whole new conf (load dosbox without a dosbox.conf and do a "config -writeconf dosbox.conf" and adapt this one for the settings you know you need. Do this every time you change versions.

Side note, I'm glad that 0.73 will do this a whole lot better.

I figured it out! I had memsize set to 64 instead of 16. I tried 64 a long time ago and did not notice it was still there. This also fixed a problem I had installing "Lost in Time".

Thanks for all your help everyone.
Bye the way, I looked at memsize thanks to Qbix mentioning something about most games not working when memory is past 16!
Thanks Qbix!

maybe you understand now. why we said that you should use clean configfile...... We knew the solution right from the start... (at least for the lost in time problem)
