Hi there,

I've been having trouble running Terminal Velocity (Registered, v1.2)

After starting the sound setup program, and ok'ing the "Gravis Ultrasound" dialog box, the program crashes, returning me to the DOSBOX prompt with the message: "Spawn Error: No such file or directory."

I've been led to believe this error may be caused by a corrupted NTDVM.exe file, can anyone confirm this?

If so, any thoughts on how to remedy this issue?

My system specs:

Windows XP Home Edition (SP2)
*
DualCore Intel Pentium 805 D (2 x 2.66 Ghz)
Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT
1024 MB DDR2 SDRAM
Realtek ALC880 (D)

when you run in dosbox there is no NTVDM.EXE

you might want to try the following 2 things.
Try no sound or soundblaster

Secondly be sure to have installed the game from within dosbox.

Don't configure the game to use GUS.

If your using DosBox http://dosbox.sourceforge.net then there is no NTVDM.

Did you install the game straight off of the CD?

Hi there,

@Qbix:

As I said, it's not possible for me to even access the sound setup program successfully.

I've just attempted a re-install from within DosBox, and received the following error message:

"W_InitFiles: no files found"

@DosFreak:

The Gravis Ultrasound message is just a standard dialog box that appears during the setup process containing information for GUS users, and doesn't affect the setup in any way (other than being annoying)

Yes, I installed the game directly from the CD.

I've just attempted a re-install from within DosBox, and received the following error message

Please start off with a clean installation of the 0.72 release of dosbox,
especially a default dosbox.conf
Set up your mounting (cdrom/hd) in the autoexec section, and post the
exact settings here. Proceed with the installation of the game and,
if there still is an error, post the exact message.
