Soo....let me get this straight...

You copied your Crusader CD to your hard drive.
You mount the folder where you copied the crusader to your hard drive as your "d" drive.
You then run the Install program and install Crusader to your "D" drive.

You don't see anything wrong with this?

All you need to do is stick the Crusader CD in your hard drive.
Not which CD drive letter your crusader CD is in Windows.
Create a GAMES folder in your "C:\" drive.
Execute DosBox.
Type in "mount c c:\games" to mount your "C:\Games" as your emulated "C:\" drive.
Type in "mount d d:\ -t cdrom -ioctl"
Where "D:" is whatever your host CDROM drive letter is.
Switch to your CD drive by typing "D:"
Install Crusader to your "C:" drive.
Start the game.

Crusader games (both No Remorse and No Regret) are among the most tricky to get working in Dosbox... All you need to do is mount a C:\ drive (where you'll install Crusader to), then mount the D:\ drive (with your real cd/dvd drive, where the Crusader CD is, or mount a CD image), make a full install from D:\ (Crusader CD or image) to C:\ ( like C:\CRUSADER ).
Configure sound to SB16 (base address 220, irq 7, dma 5) and leave it at 22050 mixrate. Copy the whole FLICS dir from CD to C:\CRUSADER and edit CRUSADER.CFG (inside C:\CRUSADER) and change these two entries like this:

cdletter=c
flicpath=.\flics

This way you can play CRUSADER (both of them!) on you HD with no need for CD or image...! 😎

I'll try to start my "nearly 100 favorite DOS games successfully played in Dosbox list" here in the forums in JULY, when I return from my vacation trip.

In the meantime, feel free to give some feedback.

Configure sound to SB16 (base address 220, irq 5, dma 5)

Unless you changed Dosbox' settings, IRQ has to be 7 not 5!!!

You are right, Dominus!

Just a slight distraction... As in fact the majority of DOS games under DOSBox run damn fine with the default setting SB16 0x220 irq 7 dma 1 hdma 5 .

Oh, and as a sidenote, most errors with Crusader games I've seen in this forum are due to poor instalations, mismounting drives and corrupted RIP versions of the game (even the graphic problem when you see Crusader's HUD with black background plus the main character's trails as he moves on the screen, it's NOT a DOSBox output configuration problem - also happened to me when I tested a RIP version).
