The original developer "Roger Powell" says this app "Texture" will only work with a dedicated MPU 401. With "Dosbox" everything works with the exception of "Play".
I am sooo close, any suggestions please?
Operating sys Windows XP
Default to irq 2
Default base address 330 hex

It uses intelligent mode(see a topic in this forum section).
This was implemented to work with all programs(games) I was able to find that use it.
For now you can't do much, except provide that program if possible, so we could test it and (try to) improve emulation.

Sorry ... you will need this song file to test
Place in the same dir as app ... in texture type "ff" then enter which will load song file.
Only two modes in this program access either by "tab" key
Go to track "T"
pressing the "v" key will open track to notes
Curser up & down should play a sound.
Pressing "P" should play pattern in real time, .....which sadly does not happen at this time..
Thanks again, I think you have all you need to test this
regards

Srecko, is this a CVS build, or just those specific changes applied to the 0.63 base build, or some other WIP build or what?

*hides*

EDIT: I see some mpu-401 changes in the CVS tree, which I guess answers my question 😀 Doesn't look like the devs have had much time to work on DOSBox since 0.63 🙁

Snover, it wasn't moved. It was a double post.

It's a CVS but doesn't contain all of the very latest changes.
It should be compatible with 0.63 config and libs.
Here's also libpng.dll and pdcurses.dll for it.

Btw. it also includes munt 0.1.2 (to use set MIDI driver to mt32 and place two ROMs in working dir).

In the meantimne, heres what my dosbox.conf seem to contain in regard to midi..

[midi]
# mpu401 -- Enable MPU-401 Emulation.
# intelligent -- Operate in Intelligent mode.
# device -- Device that will receive the MIDI data from MPU-401.
# This can be default,alsa,oss,win32,coreaudio,none.
# config -- Special configuration options for the device.

mpu401=true
intelligent=TRUE
device=default
config=

BTW, Superkey seems to run fine for me under XP. What issue are you having?

Does Texture work with midi in in dosbox? Sorry for asking after 11 years. But Roger Powell made a new album after 26 years. 😀

What brought me here? Midi sequencers like Atari ST Notator, Texture, Opcode Studio Vision, all having original design principles, pattern workflow, pattern in pattern, arranging from patterns...
