I've been setting up DOSBox games in a fullscreen frontend recently, and have hit a bit of a snag: when a game starts via DOSBox, the windowed splash screen displays first even if I have fullscreen set (the game itself then loads in fullscreen as expected).
Have I missed something simple to configure a shortcut/game/conf to avoid this issue?
I saw an old thread where someone asked if the splash screen could be disabled (the ideal solution) but apparently this isn't possible without recompiling the source code. The alternative - since the splash screen itself doesn't bother me, but the fact it appears as a small window before any game - is that the splash is displayed as per the fullscreen parameter; i.e. if fullscreen is set, then DOSBox *begins* in fullscreen rather than showing the splash in a window, then switching to fullscreen for the game.
Is there a way to do either of these things? Again, I expect the simple answer is "no" for the first... but switching to fullscreen *before* the splash is displayed...?
Sorry if this has been asked before; as I said, I could only find a single thread discussing this that got shot down pretty quickly, but it surprised me more people haven't asked about this.
Although I was intending to use "vanilla" DOSBox, I am happy to switch to ECE or X or another build if that allows either of the things I want and "vanilla" doesn't, as long as it's up-to-date.
