Dear frens
I am using DOSBOX in Win10 sucessfully. but I have a small problem.
i want to run my digital diary dos based application which requires two lines to be added to CONFIG.SYS file.
But i cannot find the config.sys file in dosbox.

i want to add these two lines to config.sys file
FILES=150
BUFFERS=30,0

Please help me.

You generally shouldn't need to set these in DOSBox. If the software is checking for their presence in config.sys and refusing to run without such, adding a dummy file at an appropriate directory location should resolve that.

How is the program failing specifically?

Z Drive is read only so i cannot create config.sys file manually.

Also, there is no text editor. however i can download a simple text editor for dos and run it on my Ipad.

but the main problem still lies in the config.sys file.

Please help

First of all, this is a DOSBOX question on a DOS forum.

The problem is not solved by having a CONFIG.SYS file, because neither DOSBOX nor your program uses the CONFIG.SYS file.

See here : https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Talk:AUTOEXEC

In short: you need to recompile DOSBOX to support more files, so it currently is not suitable to run your productivity program (because it is mostly meant to run games). The program you are trying to run wants to open an insane amount of files for some reason, and this does not sound very sane even in normal DOS because default is 8 and usually between 20 and 40 is enough even for running windows 3.11 under DOS.

Another option is to use DOSBOX or another emulator to boot real MS-DOS.

Is that iDOS on your iPad? Does it still require a jailbreak for installation?

A fenced in version of Dospad is in the App Store as iDOS but if you have a Mac you can easily install it yourself from the Dospad source.

It's probably yet another Clipper app.

vDosPlus would be the solution in Windows, but I've never heard of an iOS port of vDosPlus. Booting DOS from a disk image is probably the only option here.
