i just copied an old archive of my c:\dos directory (dos 6.22) into DosBox. there are programs in there that might (at least i'm thinking they might) be kind of "dangerous" to keep in there because the results of them running might at the very least be unpredictable. fdisk, dblspace, defrag are the 3 that imediately come to mind. would it be better to archive these in a zip file?

DOSBox is intended to run old dos games, not some "let's see if this tool does any harm" playing.

You'll find any program in there that would be "dangerous" to use on a live system (like FDISK) will have no effect on DOSBox, unless you're working off of a disk image. DOSBox does not emulate a whole computer, just the parts that make games run. Since it's self-contained, except for the mounted directories, the only damage you can do is to the files in the mounted directories.
