Are you sure that you want to? It's easier to just add PATH=Z:\;C:\DOSUTILS to the [autoexec] portion of your DOSBox configuration file, where C:\DOSUTILS refers to a real subfolder on a mounted "c drive."
If you want DOSBox to have C: be the current drive letter when starting your DOSBox session, add c: to [autoexec].

[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
mount c /mnt/home/80s
path=z:\;c:\dosutil
c:

thanks for answers.

its a cosmetic thing nothing else. i want it for Norton Commander.

if you hit "alt+F1" you can choose between all drives.
this window shows "C | D | Z" and the Z is the ugly thing.

C is my norton commander dir and netbios.exe and some .but files for multiplayer.
D are all my games.
this is like in the old good dos days.

if i could rename Z to C thats shitty, because of my NC and files in C.

Says a NL person (i think), with dutch being sooo much different from german and all... (;

Can't see the problem with the z:-drive, too. Maybe the drive can be hidden in the tool's options or something. If it can't just live with it, the world will continue to turn even with a visible z:-drive.

Hehe, here's some uglyness for ya: All of those infernal LFN tildes when running NC under WinDoZe 9x+ <LOL>!

(edit) ...and, don't have a screenie for ya, but the drive layout of my old 486DX100:

A - 5-1/4 Floppy Drive
B - 3-1/2 Floppy Drive
C - Hard Disk 1, Partition 1
D - Hard Disk 1, Partition 2
E - Hard Disk 1, Partition 3
F - Hard Disk 1, Partition 4
G - Hard Disk 2, Partition 1
H - CD-ROM Drive
I - RAM Drive
Z - ZIP Drive

<BG> 😀
