I'm running DOSBox on Windows XP and I use an LCD monitor. When a DOS program uses an SVGA mode, everything is OK.

However, when the DOS program runs in a VGA or CGA mode, I can only run it in a window. When I try to to switch to full screen mode, I can only see garbage since the DOSBox is trying to switch the monitor to a frequency > 60Hz.

Is there a workaround - or is it a bug (that somebody might fix for me)???

Your video card may have come with some software that lets you tweak the settings for an LCD monitor. I've managed to use what comes with the nVidia drivers to tweak my monitor to run at 75Hz, instead of its rated 60Hz at its native resolution of 1440*900. It still reports a 60Hz refresh rate to Windows, though.
