glidos not starting game??

hi again.

having reinstalled glidos 1.40 and also setting up TR1 with the TR1 advanced installer, i have ticked the vdos32 box (as i'm on vista) and pressed start, but nothing happens whatsoever.

i have also done step 2 as shown here

which is a very quick process, just a small loading bar.

can't think what would be going wrong.

i've also tried going into C:\TOMBRAID and right clicking the exe and clicking 'run with VDMS' (which i have also installed) but it just says

VDMS Launchpad - TOMB
this system does not support full screen mode. choose close to terminate the program
(not sure how relevant thaT Is, but anyway)

so i am at a loss for ideas now. why won't it boot up?

something happened and vdos didnt appear in the glidos folder.
sorted now thanks.

about the installer thing: i've more or less set it all up again now, but is there a way of checking which installer method i ended up using?
i tried both methods in desperation, and, well, its running.

shouldnt make much difference should it?

If its working then no problem. There's nothing wrong with the advanced installer. I just like people to use the preconfigured archive so that if they run into problems, I know its not down to the installation of TR1
