I played around with real dos on an ASUS K8NE-Deluxe, years ago It worked but when I try to load Creative SB driver or PCI NIC driver, it hung After some research, I discovered it need to disable APIC in BIOS setting (set IRQ mode to PIC) to make it work correctly

Did you check if the mobo (or PSU) deliver -5V to the isa slot ?

They are all SRAM chips I think the main difference is their access time since tag memory is accessed before every cache memory access I have once remove cache chips from a dead 486 mobo to upgrade some other Tag chip was rated 15ns and cache 20ns

Will it support wheel mouse I would be interested (maybe for 2) It's hard to find serial mice which have more than two button and I don't know if there are any optical mouse which support serial protocol

There is the IDE connector of the awe32 which can conflict with the one of the mobo Many old mobos / io-cards only have 1 ide port, your awe32 ide port may be jumpered as 2nd ide port

I played FF8 through the 1st cd on a K6-2 375MHz at an acceptable speed It was on ePSXe with Lewpy glide plugin and a voodoo5 On your pc, I think a faster graphic card may help

I have looked at my V5 mac DVI output is driven by a Sil164CT64 chip According to its data sheet, it has 24bit digital input, contrary to what i said earlier, VSA-100 seems to have a digital output.
