Boot MS-DOS inside Dosbox: Cycles=max?

I have created a harddisk image and have installed MS-DOS 6.22 and some other apps on that image (Turbo Pascal, Win 3.11 etc.). Everytime I boot from that image (boot -l c) the cycles will automatically change to max. Maybe the cpu core changes to dynamic core also, but I am not sure about that. …

Re: Debian Build

why don't you want to compile the sources? Installiung the dependencies (the required dev-packages) is pretty easy. And if you don't want to mess with your system, well: You don't actually have to do a "make install"! "Configure" and "make" will suffice, after that you can just run the executable …

Re: Installing GeoWorks Ensemble?

Norton Commander asked: Just out of curiousity, why are you trying to install Geoworks? I had purchased Ensemble 2.0 in the days of Windows 3.0 and installed it. To be honest I wasn't impressed. Ensemble was nothing more than a shell with AOL built-in and some included apps. Windows had 386 …

Re: Dos Edit function?

Or if you prefer to relive the "good (?) old days" you can download the freedos msdoseditor-clone and use that one inside dosbox just like you did in the ms-dos era. I'll upload it for you convenience. Have fun.

Re: Windows 95 and DOSBox.

Don't let the others disencourage you! Try it out (maybe use HAL's CVS-Build instead of the official ones) and have fun. Experimenting is everything! But you better don't ask these questions HERE because Windows 95 is not officially supported. Contacting HAL via PM might be helpful as he can …

Re: grand prix 2

Does anyone else have the problem that gp2 works using the default dos4gw dosextender but constantly exits to the command prompt with a "divide by zero" message when you try to run it using dos32a? Is this a dos32a bug or a dosbox bug? ... no difference between the official dosbox 0.72 and the …

Re: Can I install ms-dos 6.22 inside dosbox?

And you have to beware of this: If you boot MS-DOS inside dosbox, you will not be able to use the dosbox-shortkeys any more. Dosbox will still be running in the background, though, but you will lose the kinds of control mechanisms that make using dosbox so convenient, e.g. lowering the cycles or …

Re: linux in dosbox

Seem impossible to me because Linux has always been a real 32 bit OS and dosbox is designed to boot 16 bit OSs. Windows 95 for example is a "16 bit dos system" which makes use of something like a permanent 32 bit extender (ok, this is really a layman's guess).
