It is always weird for me to see users hate protection drivers when the Daemon Tools one also operates in Ring 0, but it is highly appreciated. Apparently they're unable to understand the concept of something performing a useful function...

I've got a DMX 6fire with a DB-50XG in the breakout. It's really, really good: I have had a couple of minor driver issues, but I suspect this was related to installing them via nlite rather than the usual way. Other than that it sounds faboo.

Presuming you mean enhance, notwithstanding the fact that you can pass MIDI through to your Windows wavetable, you could always try the MT-32 patch. Or just use the GUS with Propats. MIDI options are not exactly thin on the ground.

I've got a KTA3+ that I picked up cheap as a refurb but I could never get it to output anything; very annoying. prophase: I did mention elsewhere that I have an extra Voodoo 5 to slough off, btw...

Re: Voodoo 5500 - I was put off this card because it had 2 fans on the card! I dislike PC-based noise, but perhaps they are not too loud? I was using one in my machine until the other day when I switched it out to do some testing, and to me it's never been loud enough to be particularly noticeable …

For me in Dosbox using the included glide files works insofar as it loads and gets to the menu, but once I start a mission the screen goes black - probably because I have a Voodoo 5 as my graphics card ;) And despite their best efforts SFFT et al aren't there yet... xtal: check out Falconfly's Voodoo 2 page. I think the .ovl silent's referring to is included in the 06/04/98 driver release for win9x (first table, third item). Not sure if there's any benefit in trying later ones, I'll be doing that myself later. The readme indicates it's designed to work with v2. …

I can also recommend an Asrock K7VT2 for a V5 (or K7VM2 if you can't get one, it's the same but with an onboard video chip). I've used them for a few years now.
