Had you tried it in DOSBox? I played the original Magic Carpet with it, but I don't have Magic Carpet Plus to try. It played fine in Dosbox but I did have some sound cutting out at times. Aladdin and Lion King had both separate DOS and Windows versions. The filename lionw.exe with the w at the end indicates that you have the Windows version. As others have said, you will need to find the DOS version to use with DosBox.

You were right Qbix, I have both versions, the dos and windows ones. The dos version works fine in dosbox but the windows version will only run on Windows 9x, not XP or 2000. I got that error once on the cd version but it was because I did not have the cd in the drive. I have a dvd rom and a dvd writer and had put the cd in the wrong one. When I ran it again with the disk in the correct drive I didn't get the 2004 error.
