Re: General Midi & Sierra

in PC Emulation
Yeah, no luck resetting or changing ports. I thought I'd share what it sounds like with you guys. Here's the first minute of QFG1VGA with FM synthesis, and with the XR385. God only knows what it's doing there.

Re: General Midi & Sierra

in PC Emulation
I'm currently having the QFG1VGA in my hard disk, with General MIDI selected. The XR sounds just as it should be - GREAT! OK, so at least it's supposed to work. Problem is, my XR385 is on port 330 already. That's what I set up Hexen to use, and it works fine. I looked over the utilities you linked …

General Midi & Sierra

in PC Emulation
I realize that an MT-32 is best for Sierra games, but some of them ostensibly support General Midi. Is it actually supposed to work? I ask because I have an xr385 on a CT2230. I have it set up properly in windows 95 and its dos shell. Hexen plays fine, GM definitely works, and there are no hanging …

Re: How to?

in MT-32 General
Anyone? I don't need my hand held. I'd just like a pointer to current documentation. I already read the stickied posts, even though they're years out of date, and found nothing useful. How do I use this emulator?

How to?

in MT-32 General
I'm trying to get munt set up in Linux, and I could use some help. I cloned the get repository, ran cmake, built and installed it. Is there a binary I need to run? How do I actually use this?

Re: CPU limited

Thanks for the comments. I might try to pick up an 800-1ghz P3 for these cards then. I don't think my IBM supports more than 550mhz CPUs. I do have a GF2MX in that computer too, so maybe I'll move it over and get some head to head comparisons of Glide vs DirectX/GL on late 90s games. Just for …

Re: CPU limited

What software can make use of a 1ghz CPU and still looks best on a V2? The V2 doesn't do T&L, which was introduced in 1999. So anything after that is more likely best played on a Geforce. So we're really just talking about 1998-1999 games. The 1ghz P3 wasn't introduced until 2000, so that might be …

CPU limited

I picked up a couple 12mb Voodoo 2s off of eBay for SLI. Threw them into the first handy machine, which happened to be a 266mhz PII (al440lx) motherboard. Now this thing is obviously CPU limited. In Glide games, I can change resolution from 640x480 to 1024x768 with no change in FPS. My question is, …

Mapping combos

I'm trying to set up my joystick for use with X-Wing. My joystick has an analog twist axis as "axis 2", the 3rd actual axis counting from 0. X-Wing, by default, has Axis 0 as pitch, Axis 1 as yaw, And Button 1 + Axis 1 as roll. I'd like to assign Button 1 + Axis 1 to my real Axis 2. I haven't been …

Fullscreen & Dual head

Hi, I'm using dosbox on a linux 2.6.1 (gentoo) with XFree86 4.3.0. The server is configured to use the VGA and TV out of my nvidia geforce4 mx440 as two independent screens. So the VGA is :0.0 and TV is :0.1, no xinerama. I would like to be able to use dosbox fullscreen on one screen while retaining …
