Re: Virtual PC (gameport) joystick support?

in PC Emulation
Given that neither VMWare or Virtual PC are really designed to play games (Virtual PC in particular started out as a way for Mac users to run PC software which is why I'm guessing it's emulation is so much better than VMWare.) I doubt they would have thought to include proper gameport emulation. As …

Re: A quick Mac question...

heh, Stuffit Expander is already on there, theres a three page thread on another board I post at chronicling that saga. After trying several things with either the Mac or the PC corrupting the file I was eventually emailed a disk image in Mac format with the Expander already on there which I then …

Re: NESticle

ZSNES - http://www.zsnes.com/ Try the new version for Win32 now, it's quite excellent... :) But this isn't going to turn into a flame war ("Which is better", etc.). Okay? Well, it starts without crashing now so that an improvement over three years ago. Does it only apply the accelerated smoothing …

A quick Mac question...

I saw a link to the the Mac section of the Underdogs in another thread here and being the owner of a classic Mac (not a Mac Classic though!) I wouldn't mind trying a few of the games there. But I have a problem: The Mac in question (an LC475) has no CD-ROM drive or no Ethernet card. It's only form …

LSD: Doesn't TV run in Windows 2000? I could've sworn it did...hrm... do you have the floppy or CD version? Well yes and no. Yes it runs (I think you need VDMSound even under XP though, I can't remember) but that gives rise to the second problem: I have a Riva TNT 1 and TV is dependent on 8 bit …

Re: Virtual PC 5 oddity

in PC Emulation
While on the subject of VPC oddities, I'm trying to run Terminal Velocity under DOS 6.21 and in VPC 4, 4.2 and 5 it has a nasty tendency to lock the keyboard in a single direction. The only way I can stop it is by pressing Esc to bring up the menu and then resuming the game but that only solves it …

Re: NESticle

You know, like ZSNES. heh, ZSNES sucks ass. At least in Win32 form. Of course, the last time I tried it was about 3 years ago so most likely improved since then but I only have eyes for Snes9x now when it comes to SNES Emulation. While on the subject, anyone know of a good Win32 Sega Master System …

WinXP, WarCraft 2, Mo'Slo and VDMSound

Dunno if this is supposed to go here (move it please if it isn't) but anyway: Has anyone here ever managed to get this combination to work? When I try I get an error message saying War2 can find some file (data\maindat.war) on the War2 CD despite me having low-level CD-ROM support enabled in …
