I've had 3 different speeds reported from it so far, 16, 20 and 32Mhz! I think somethings not right somewhere! *Update*... Got the manual to confirm the jumper settings and they seem right... cpu/board issue? Can't think why it still shows up as an 80386DX 🙁

That looks like an old 6-pin AUX connector that some of the P3 boards/psu's came with. I'd say just try firing it up using the main PSU connnector and see what happens.

I have a SY-25M/N/P that I'm trying to get set up to work with a PODP Overdrive CPU - all the information I can find on it says that it will support the CPU with the correct jumper settings, but I'm having no luck. Well... after another play with the jumpers and flipping around the cpu in the socket... I think I can safely certify it dead 🤣 Now to wait for the 83Mhz Overdrive to show up, at least I won't be able to put that in the socket the wrong way around 😁

One is a miroCRYSTAL 20SD VL, the other is Cirrus Logic CL542X. I think the DX2 is toast, no combination of jumper settings will get it to POST. A few other things on the board get a little warm other than the CPU. To combat this, I've bagged a BOXED PODP5V Overdrive 83Mhz off the bay!

Why the hate for Maxtor? They are my drive of preference actually. Haven't had a single failure from them in 15 years. However, even with all that, I can confirm that the old Celerons have a little bit of a lag to 'em on the modern web, even compared to a 'full' PII. I'm guessing thats down to the difference in cache size? Celerons/PII's shared the same 66mhz FSB did they not?

No chassis fan header on that board, so I'll need to grab a molex powered fan for that. And the drive fronts!... I could always return to "appliance white" for the front and leave the rear black...
