It supports Intelligent mode. It just has no IRQ2 which is needed for some games.

I have used some chips with more then 70ns and I had problems. The sound was cracking. Also when I ran GUS ram test program it showed me errors. I replaces chips for 70ns (I think) and it worked perfectly.

I did try googling for the drivers. But this device is too old and there are nothing in the Web. If it works it would be a very usefull device for a laptop without ISA sound card.

SB and Adlib compatibility is emulated in the drivers. I'd like to see how many games would work:)

Hey, does anyone have drivers for Digispeech (or DSP Solutions) Portable Sound Plus? There are 2 floppies but my first one is dead and I can't read it. For how don't know what's this device is - it is a Speaker for a Parallel port. Supposed to be compatible with SB.

Could there be a resouce conflict? Did you run these games in pure DOS or Win98?

Vortex2 card would be the best in your case. Live! and more specially Audigy2 doesn't work well with Dos games anyway. Vortex2 cards are very cheap on ebay, you can get one under $10.

I agree, you need to have one of external mixers. I have Roland M-10MX. It also helps to improove sound quality, because Input ports on old cards are not so good.

$200 for boxed X-24 was extremly cheap! I've had many different Quantum3D cards. They are very cool COLLECTABLE boards. I still have some, but all collecting dust now ;) even Aalchemy 8264 server... There was a guy who wanted to wright a Glide2 driver for it, but he had some problems with his life …

It is a waste of money... It doesn't work under Windows98, no drivers for it. How many Glide2 games would work under NT? Obsidian2 X-24 is the one you need.
