Try with the -ioctl switch to mount if you are using a Win32 build of Dos Box. If you're using a build for another OS, this will not work.

Try the mount flag '-t cdrom' when mounting your CD-ROM drive mount d d:\ -t cdrom That should get you a CD-ROM driver.

I believe you might've missed my point. 😀 I've been testing with the normal core, in fact, I use the normal core almost exclusively. I just switched to dynamic to see if things would react differently, and they did, slightly. 😀

With the King's Quest Collection, which I believe is what you are referring to as the '15th Anniversary Edition', if you cd into the specific directories for the game on the CD itself, you can use the game's own installer, rather than the selector batch from the collection CD to install each game.

This sounds like a paging issue. Dosbox 0.60 doesn't provide Paging or VCPI support. Wait for the next release of DosBox, though I suspect that you will have to set ems=false to get the game to run.

Hmm... this sounds like you need to pass a -label switch to your mount command. I've always just installed MoM to my HD completely off the CD, and never had to worry about it.

You run ./configure (And add options if you feel so inclined) Then 'make' (Optionally, you can use custom CXXFLAGS here) followed by 'make install' when the build process completes.

Right now, though on my PIII/600, the 'normal' cpu core seems to have the highest performance of the three if I compile with -march=pentium3 -O3, and --enable-core-inline to configure. VCPI (And Paging) support is required for both Privateer and Armada. I'm not sure about WC3, but I suspect that is as well. It will come in time, but not with Dos Box 0.60. You can get Privateer to run with the latest CVS if you disable EMS, and enable Debugging, but my experimentations with that …
