Plus I am not sure if there is even an external battery header on here. Looks to me like it's right there between the battery and the mounting screw. As for getting into setup, on those old Phoenix BIOSes it's usually one of the following: Ctrl+Alt+S, Ctrl+Alt+Ins, Ctrl+Alt+X, or Ctrl+Alt+Esc

So I think this may be 3 megs total on this S3 now, if I were to guess... I don't think you can do that on a Virge... things will probably get a bit interesting if you try to run 1024x768x32 or 1280x1024x16.

I'd personally go with Win95 OSR2. 98SE is much better suited to P6-class machines... yeah, it'll work on a 486, but 95 works better. I can't find much info on that DPT card, but I'm guessing it probably has an ~8GB limit... that was pretty much the norm for late ISA and early PCI SCSI controllers.

Go here. The file you need is 3C5X9X.EXE. That's got the WIN31 and DOS drivers, as well as the config utility. Edit: Holy crap, I just noticed in the pictures... you're using an SX-1980 for computer sound? 🤣

I'm fairly certain its not supported by this printer. Ah, wait, my bad. I was reading it as a 4M, which is an entirely different animal. I so rarely encounter a 'P' series unit that I forget they even exist... and yeah, no internal network option on those.

* pci <> parallel port. So I can hook up my HP Laserjet 4MP printer to the network. Just put a Jetdirect card in the printer... it'll work better, cost about the same, and you'll have the PCI slot free for adding a SATA card or whatever.

A fair point. It's not like you're going to be using such a drive for critical data anymore, so you're not really out much even if it does die. And besides, a Deathstar that still works after 13 years is likely to be about as reliable as any other 13 year old hard drive.

Those are for setting the AGP mode. All 3 open = 1X/2X mode, all 3 installed = 4x mode. Why they did it that way, I have no idea. Most other cards can autodetect.

Also, the OCPD in me wants to know, if a "regular" coast cache card will fit in that socket. Unlikely. It looks more akin to the cache DIMM slots used in the PCI PowerMacs and some of the IBM RS/6000 machines...
