I think i browsed a store's site where they had one of these. A 5.25" external USB drive. That entire thing is an amazing sign of the times. Who would need something like that, besides retro-gaming fans, and which company would keep such a product on today's market. 😜

What if i want to run not so old games like Arcanum or Sacrifice in a virtual environment nowadays? Both games need DirectX, i dont know if they need hardware acceleration. But if any game does need it, would they run at reasonable speed in a guest system under Virtualbox for example?

It says on the 3DR page that Kroz is algo being released with its source code, you might want to change that. Has anyone downloaded the games and tried compiling the source code in the games which include it?

In simple words it gives partial directx to virtual machines. It's a wrapper translating directx calls to opengl calls. The host only needs opengl. As dosfreak has pointed out, there is opengl for linux guests. Ah , k. But, is opengl support 100% working? I read around the web, that it's only …

So, in simple words, what does this do? Does it allow windows guest systems in a virtual environment to have Direct3D natively? Does it need a windows host system to work? That would sort of defeat the purpose, wouldnt it? Im waiting for a solution that bring opengl native support for LINUX guests …

Is it too difficult to have Linux guest acceleration under a windows host?? All i see so far in virtualized 3d acceleration in virtualizers is when both the host and the guest are the same system (windows - windows, linux - linux) which to me seems pretty pointless.

When you buy something it's yours to keep, to sell, re-sell, give away or toss to a trash bin. If youre allowed to do that you didnt buy it, you rented it. These EULAs are for not other reason than to secure big profits for microsoft and the likes at the expense of people's rights.
