if you want a dead simple test grab unisound and add it to your autoexec.bat. You should need be able to test sb16, FM, AWE32 functionality. To test the midi synth you will need the aweutil tsr. I think the basic approach you need to take is try to disable or remove one thing at a time until its working, that might be mean you get all the way with just the video card and the sb16. but then once it working you can bring each part back one at a time and hopefully in the end have everything …

is your parallel port enabled? thats the usual suspect using irq 5 or 7. the other option is a device on the motherboard itself like the ide controller or builtin sound. You probably could boot into windows and look through device manager to find it. another option is checkit or some other dos …

Im wondering if your sb16 is sharing an irq. But still look around if there is an option for the isa bus the options look clk/4 and other numbers. any other cards? maybe try with the live card removed. When booting on the second screen sometime (the more recent boards) display the cards and irq …

yeah i didnt expect much from the shadow ram, but its worth trying. Probably had more impact for 8088/286 systems. the other main set of options that can give the biggest improvements are any memory timing and waitstates, if you have any of those and can set to a lower numerical value it might give …

Check for a turbo switch I think it might off throwing the freq off in speedsys and turning off the cache. Edit: You might not get much more out of this system. 10 fps in that test is around a low end 386 sx. I think when i ran my AMD 386DX 40 it was at 13 fps. So maybe highest 14 on this... I think …

i had a similar problem on y 486 but i have a 3d printer. It would not be hard to reproduce the brackets attached to the floppy drive using a caliper to measure its dimensions. I use tinkercad to model the object. Also Im pretty sure the pcb makers also do 3d print orders, might be an option for you …

if you have a multimeter check for shorts / < 10 ohms on the AT connector. You may have have just blown a tantalum capacitor which are highly likely to blow. Look for the burnt part, check caps for shorts. Remove at least one side until the short is gone. If those check out then id move to the …
