Re: SB AWE32 DOS/Win 98 Drivers?

Update: I have the following files with me at the moment. Would any of these help? Game drivers --------------- A32AWE32.DLL FILE_ID.DIZ LICENSE.TXT README SBAWE32.ADD SBAWE32.ADV Basic Disk (I think this was from the floppy) ---------------- AWEDRV.PVL AWEUTIL.EXE CSP.PVL CT3DSE.PVL FILE_ID.DZ …

Re: Help me pick which of these sound cards to use

Wow, that's similar to my setup. I have a Pentium 90 in my Dell Optiplex Gs with the following: SB-AWE32 CT-3900, Roland SC-55 for Midi hooked in through the AWE32's gameport, Gravis Ultrasound 2.4 (currently on the way in the mail) I was staring at an NEC Yamaha DB60XG daughterboard clone on ebay …

Re: Two ISA sound cards on a DOS/98 machine?

I currently have the AWE32 working great in Win98, but for some odd reason it won't initialize in DOS. I've heard real mode DOS doesn't like that card in particular...but I have no trouble recognizing it as a regular "SB16" for games like Doom, Heretic, etc. I ended up using my Roland Sound Canvas …

Re: SB AWE32 DOS/Win 98 Drivers?

@sepultribe: I have an AWE32 CT-3900 model myself, I could see if I have the drivers somewhere...I don't have the original CD but I may have backed them up somewhere. I'll take a look through all my junk- I mean, uh, old vintage PC stuff later 😀

Re: PC vintage gaming project

Here's my setup: Dell Optiplex Gs ------------------- CPU: Pentium I at a screaming-fast-for-its-time 90MhZ Memory: 64MB RAM, technically this is supposed to be 128 but I think one bank is bad or not seated. Gfx: PCI-slot 32MB NVidia GeForce 2 Sound: ISA-card AWE32 CT-3900, Gravis Ultrasound 2.4, …

Re: Two ISA sound cards on a DOS/98 machine?

Cool beans, thanks guys! I have never actually installed more than one sound card in ANY computer, modern or vintage. Ironically the older computers have never let me down- it's my XP system I rebuilt four times. First I fried the memory, then the motherboard. Then we had some crazy storms in MO and …

Re: Sound card help

I've used the following: generic SB 16 PnP, AWE32 CT-3900 pimped out with full RAM, Roland SC-55, Roland MT-32 for Sierra Games, and I recently grabbed a Gravis Ultrasound 2.4 last week off ebay. I gotta try that one out. 😀

Two ISA sound cards on a DOS/98 machine?

Hi everyone (I need to log in here more often!) I recently got a Gravis Ultrasound, rev 2.4 off ebay for dirt cheap. I wanted to put it in my old Dell Optiplex as it has tons of full length ISA slots I'm not using. I currently have a Sound Blaster AWE32, model CT-3900 for my main sound card. This is …

Re: CONNECTING A ROLAND MT 32 TO A PC

Ok, I've got my joystick to MIDI cables and have them hooked up to my sound card. (Out to In, and vice versa.) Now I seem to be experiencing a similar problem here: no light, no midi sound. I've tried sending sysex data through a "WSysex" program I got from Quest Studios. Still no audio, though …

Re: CONNECTING A ROLAND MT 32 TO A PC

I just picked up my own Roland MT-32. (probably a 1st gen model as there's no headphone jack) Strange thing is, this one came with a Voyetra/Turtle Beach OP-4001 with Midi In/Out ports, metronome, and L/R RCA plug speaker hookups. The other end of this thing looks like a parallel/printer port. I …

Nocturne GFX invisible problem?

in Windows
Hi all, here's one game I always have extreme difficulty running properly under Windows XP: Terminal Reality's "Nocturne". Every time I set the in-game options to DirectX 7, the main character, Joshua Stranger, as well as 99% of the other NPC's disappear! All I can see is their shadows. I have had …
