There's a port of Debian to the Wii, don't remember the name, but it should be easy to find. It's nothing special really beyond the fact that the drivers in Linux and X.Org were ported to the Wii's hardware, you can install any Debian/powerpc package 😀

What is your cycles settings? What hardware and operating system do you have? Wolf3D is a light game by today's standards, even on emulators; it plays full speed with DOSBox on the Wii (729MHz single-core PowerPC) at 3000 cycles (default cycles).

Most DOS games from the 1990s were in 32-bit protected mode, and few games from the late 1980s as well (though 286s were still very common, so developers tended to keep it safe with 16-bit programs). DOSBox emulates the 80486 because there are many games that use the features of that processor 😀

doom2.exe -file redemp~1.wad Considering that it has a filename that's not conforming to 8.3, it's most likely not intended for vanilla Doom. Check the text file to see if it requires a sorce port (such as PrBoom, Eternity, ZDoom, Doomsday, or various others)

There's a few games whose mouse sensitivity just doesn't go up high enough for me... sometimes, modifying the configuration file to set a value higher than what the game setup menu allows works, but not always. I believe you need to edit "~/Library/Preferences/DOSBox Preferences" on Mac OS X, although I'm not sure of that name since I don't use OS X myself. the [autoexec] section is usually at the bottom of the file.
