No, I'm actually still going to buy the CPU and I was aiming at a reasonable dual core (like the 4400) but I'm in the process of finding one with a reasonable price. However, if you know a better and cheaper alternative, please say so. I'm all ears! 😀

Your feedback is most welcome, Old Thrashbarg. What CPU do you believe my PC would benefit the most, taking in consideration what I wrote in the 1st post? Athlon 64 X2 3800, 4200 or 4400? And is the ASRock 939dual-sata2 a good overclocker? If anyone else has some input on this, feel free to share.

FIFA 94 does work with both pentium_slow and 386_prefetch settings. Runs just like my old PC did... From FMV intro to actual ingame with voice comments. The only thing that doesn't work in DOSBox is (as stated above) the config.exe utility. But I could almost swear it ran just fine with that 'core= …

Locate the dosbox.conf file (inside your DOSBox directory) and try changing cycles to 18000 or 20000 (e.g. cycles=18000). That solved the player / scoreboard flashing for me... Happy gaming!

I also have Need For Speed Special Edition (CD) and I get the exact same problem... The funny thing is that the INTRO movie plays damn fine, only the movies in the menu and ingame get screwed up. To developers: Is it really a documented issue? Is there anything (testing wise) I can do to help?

Sorry for the big delay, very busy, between jobs, etc, etc... forgot to metion this is only with the flash drive I usually don't play games on USB flash/pen drives. If I were you, I'd check that flash drive's integrity via some software available, or try with another pen. I do use DOSBox in my pen …

Sorry for all the delay, guys, but I'm sort of between jobs right now, so proper time for testing is scarce... njaydg try something like cycles=auto limit 80000 (...) as the game goes very fast on easy processing it is safe to assume that the guessed cycles by dosbox are then very high. so limiting …

* pushes emgee in the right direction * Create a BIN / CUE image of the CD using UltraISO. Then load the CUE file using imgmount inside DOSBox. That way you'll hear the audio tracks playing ingame. 😎
