As strange as this sounds but the game will play nicely on a xp without dosbox if you choose sound blaster for sound and for music just choose general midi. The game must be installed in dosbox but once installed it runs great without dosbox. You will get 100% perfect quality sounds and music. The …

Thos was an awesome game from sierra. The problem is that it won't run without dosbox but once it gets to a part where you need to switch the disks with dosbx you can't switch disks so it is impossible to get very far with dosbox on lighthouse. Strike base is a 3d game that is somewhat similar to dune. almost all Games from 2002 and later run slowly or crash when a lot is going on. Can someone please tell me why many games with similar requirements to strike base run too slowly no mattar how many frameskips and cycles you put on yet strike base runs great.

strike base is a dos 4gw game and tomb raider is a dos 4gw game yet strike base runs at normal speed with only 7500 cycles and tomb raider runs slowly at any cycle count and 10 frameskip and their is many dos 4gw games with lower requirements that will run too slowly in dosbox. duke 3d and blood and …

I know what protected mode is. I still think dos box does not fully support protected mode as strike base is a protected mode game with similar requirements to quake and it runs with 7500 cycles at normal speed but quake runs too slowly no mattar what you do. Doom runs great at 7500 cycles. tomb …
