Compared to the complang list, cpuworld is benching the same thing, doom 1.9s under dos, with the same set of hardware. c2d is the runner up to the a64, not so bad. I wonder what changes they made that dropped the performance in DOS. The latest haswell even dropped compared to ivy, both being way down the list.

Does there seem to be any diffrence between running it on a 33mhz as compared to a 40mhz? A 40 MHz performs 20% faster and this seems to be quite a demanding game. I personally would also play this rather on a 486. To see the difference between 40 and 33 MHz on a 386 you can head to my YT channel …

PCem v8 is now available. FYI, gusmax is a gus with wss compatible dac on a different port. Might be able to get away with just setting the ultra16 environment var to the wss port, but if there are any hard coded programs, make the wss dac available on port 32c in the code.
