Re: dosbox and windows 7

This problem sounds fimiliar to something I encountered at my job. The problem was that a link was corrupt after installation. Check if starting DOSBox.exe from Windows Explorer has the same effect.

Re: Resolution issues

Try the following fullresolution=original windowresolution=original aspect=true or false scaler=normal2x or none Only change the resolution if the orginal one doesn't work on your monitor. Changing the resolution tends to result in black lines. Try fiddeling with aspect and the scaler. Only use an …

Re: Mouse Y-axis reverse?

I tried to add it to D.O.G by hooking into the Mouse LowLevel System Hook of Windows, and it worked as long as it wasn't DirectX or OpenGL that was rendering. So the only two options I geuss there are left are rewriting a plugin dll for SDL or rewriting DosBox.

Re: Quake & Surface Output Device

Started DOSBox using a fresh config file. Only adding an autoexec to it. See attachments. Same scenario is valid. Alt+Entering and Surface cause the drawing. Running the game from the start in fullscreen or window won't cause the drawing. Switching between window or fullscreen while running the menu …

Re: Quake & Surface Output Device

Woody, I removed the VSync section in the conf file, this was due to a bug in D.O.G. 1.54 beta. Thanks, Now I start DOSBox using the attached conf file. Fullscreen is on. To reproduce : Start Quake 1.0.1 and let the menu demo play out in fullscreen until the player gets to the portal door. ALT+Enter …

Quake & Surface Output Device

Starting Quake using the attached conf file setting the output Device to surface results DOSBox 0.72 or the CVS sometimes to paint the screen "flash" incorrectly. This after Alt-Entering DOSBox to fullscreen. The game stops suddenly and repaints the flash very slowly, afterwards the game continues …

Re: Weird Battle Chess Problem

The only thing to try out is DOSBox 0.72, a differant CPU like Simple or Full. If it still doesn't work report back with the following info : -Windows version -DOSBox version -Game used -Config file used (upload it !) -Problem at hand with steps used to reach it. -Graphics card used -Any other info …

Re: Windows fliped 90 degrees

Edit : Woops never mind. I had this ones too with an office computer, not using DOSBox but after installing MS Visual Studio 2005 Team System for Testers. There could be an icon in the system tray (next to the clock) with a hint like 'ATI' or "NVidea" or "Display" or something similar. Check here if …

Re: Mounting Zips in DosBox Using a Frontend

The differance between D.O.G. and DBGL on the part of mounting zips is that D.O.G. does this on its own and doesn't require DOSBox to support zip mounting. As far as I know DBGL requires DOSBox to support Zip mounting. D.O.G. also supports 7-zip for compression. Erik.

Re: DOSBOX on Mac Please Help!!

Try out DappleGray, it is a MAC frontend for DOSBox. It is a kind of Windows on top of DOSBox. Also check out the guides in the Guides section of this forum. The bat files are batch files used in DOS and Windows. These are kind of script files. These are the most likely to be used for starting the …

Re: Problem with switching to Disk 2

Another way to do it : Mount one directory as a floppy. Then when the installer asks for Disk 2 erase the mounted "floppy" directory in Windows Explorer Copy in all files from disk 2 with Windows Explorer. Then press CTRL-F4. Continue with installer. This should work too as I recall. Erik.

Re: Schleichfahrt

How did you mount your drives/directories? Post the dosbox conf file if you used one. Does the file above mentioned, exist in your game dir? Did you try out one of the frontends (D.O.G. or DBGL) ? These are great for learning DOSBox and all of its configurations. Also the readme.txt provided does …

Re: Could this be added

An easier way of doing this is using 4DOS. It is a shell command extender. If you have difficulty using this "plugin" then try out D.O.G. 1.54 (NOT 1.53) with a profile with no exe set, but with 4DOS expantion set to "On". How to : Profile Manager (New/Edit Profile) -> Clear Exe Filename -> DOS -> …

Re: Mount command not working

Also with D.O.G. you can, using the Profile Manager "New/Edit Profile", detect what keyboard you are using. See tab Input devices> keyboard and the button "Localize" In Vista this button only works if giving D.O.G. administrative privelages before starting it. This doesn't always work though. Also …

Re: Genewars

I see you mounted this : d:\gry\test\genewars It should be d:\gry\test\ for C:\ (mmm, I could put in a warning about this in D.O.G.) Games don't like being in the root of a drive. If this doesn't work check and see if a cfg file or any other setup/options file kan be edited with notepad in the games …
