Turning up the cycles to 20,000 only made it MORE choppy. Any other poissible fixes?

I found the spot to mount the CD-ROM in the D-Fend GUI, and the game detected my disc. My only problem now seems to be choppiness, both in the movies and in the gameplay itself. How do I do that? Can I do it in D-Fend .. or do I have to type commands in DosBox. If I need to type in DOSBox, what are the commands I need to type?
