Re: Broken Sword 1 - SC55 as RAP10 + Sound blaster for digital?

in DOS
Garrett W wrote on 2024-05-03, 18:18: Broken Sword has pre-recorded music at 11KHz I believe. There is no MIDI soundtrack. Thanks for the fast answer. I think you are fully right. I have gone through the CDs and there are plenty of wav files. I guess RAP10 is just used for digital part and there is …

Broken Sword 1 - SC55 as RAP10 + Sound blaster for digital?

in DOS
Hi All, I am just starting (again) The Broken Sword 1 (original DOS CD version) and was wondering if its possible to use Roland SC55 as RAP10 (game supports this Roland card) for music and somehow Sound Blaster for digital? Is there any mod/patch available to make it happen? Would be cool ;-) Thanks …

Roland SC55 mixing sound via Audio Input - question

Hi All, My Roland is connected via Roland UM-One USB adapter to the iMac, and via headphone/line output to Roland's SC55 Audio inputs. The idea was to mix input sound from iMac with Roland music MIDI together, e.g. play games that enable both music via Roland and effect/speech via Sound Blaster. …

Re: Dune II HD port at last!

Thank you for your answer. I think coremidi is required to communicate with external devices, at least this is my understanding. It is a pity its not supported :( Maybe somebody in the future will be able to create a patch as a pull request. Thanks for clarification! I'd definitely be glad to merge …

Thanks a lot! I have just started testing and got stuck ;-) The Dune II via Dosbox Staging works fully ok with Roland SC55 (via Coremidi). However, in Dune Dynasty I cannot get any music from my Roland. I have checked all the settings, but always the music plays via computer speakers and not via …

Re: Dune II HD port at last!

It should be working. Dune Dynasty has MIDI support. So if a Roland SC-55 is the MIDI-device of your mac, it should use that. However, i just tried MIDI-output on a mac, and i encountered some problems with hanging notes. Alternatively you can use rcblanke's pre-recorded Sc-55 sountrack ( see here …

Short question - is it possible to configure Dune Dynasty to play music via real Roland SC-55 under Mac? It should be working. Dune Dynasty has MIDI support. So if a Roland SC-55 is the MIDI-device of your mac, it should use that. However, i just tried MIDI-output on a mac, and i encountered some …

Re: Roland SC55MK1 for Tie Fighter

I mean, you answered it already.. if it was composed for mkII then a mkI will give dropouts. SC-88 is a different sound map and the 55 emulation is inaccurate. Thanks for the answer ;-) After reading many posts and listening to different sound files recorded from different devices, I have drawn my …

Roland SC55MK1 for Tie Fighter

Hi All, This is my first post here ;-) I have got a good, I think at least, offer to buy SC55MK1 for 85euros, which I want to use mainly for Tie Fighter (its one of my favourite old Star Wars games) ;-) I started to read this forum and understood the game music was probably composed on SC55MK2 and …
