Despite the lack of positive feedback, I've updated the concept a little. The CMI8330 is apparently more compatible than SB16. Only 3 hardware IP vendors would be needed. Intel, Nvidia, C-Media. Estimated die area ~15mm2 (based on intel 14nm presentation 43,500,000T/mm2)

Huh? Is the OS booting or not? If yes, then that will be in regedit and it will be set to something like "a:\" The only other suggestion I have is to replace c:\windows\inf\layout.inf with one from the cd which is probably in one of the precopy.cabs Ideally you rename the original first.

I had a quick look. CZ =counterstrike =half life =quake 2 derived Correct? I find it hard to believe carmack had limits like that. It might be worth looking into cs/hl/Q2 limits for some hints

11gb is probably a tad high for a probably 32bit game that can only address 4gb Max. Try something less silly like 2gb 2,147,483,648

A negative number would suggest a signed integer/float overflow. Eg if a value was 8 bits, and it was signed (ie it can have a SIGN showing +/-), then it would be effectively 7 bits. -127 to +127 If you then gave it an 8 bit number, say 157 it would hit +127, tick over to -127 and add 19 to that, …
