You can run any number of instances (and with different config files) of a single DOSBox installation. There is no need for multiple installations.

If I'm not mistaken DOSBox only works with/stretches to 4:3 and 8:5 aspect ratios depending on the game and aspect=true/false setting. Or something like that. Usually the smaller part of the resolution setting will be obeyed while the bigger part stretches depending on the game resolution. So your …

You probably used different mountings when installing and running the game. Without knowing which mountings are you using and the contents of z.cfg from Daggerfall directory I can only guess.

DOSBox + 3dfx patch = unsupported Regarding Daggerfall use installation package and instructions provided by Bethesda. Your config file for Daggerfall is bad on so many levels (output=surface, mounting ".", running game from root directory, not mounting cdrom).

Try forcing some fullscreen resolution that you know for sure your monitor/graphics card supports, like 640x480 or 800x600.

It would be nice to have the ability to force square pixels (at least in windowed mode) for any resolution/mode game sets. Also to expand on that idea, ability to force any pixel ratio.
