I'm playing UFO Aftermath on a Dell Dimension XPS 410, and the game runs fine, but when I try to patch it, it refuses to run. Cenega couldn't figure it out. Any ideas/suggestions? I attached my dxdiag file. TIA infael

I tried changing the source to the cd drive but nothing happened. The cursor just kept blinking after I hit return, while the cd got accessed a few times. I didn't see a winstall file so will haveta check. Thanks!

Strange. DOSbos said the Xcom CE CD is not a DOS file. Yet running setu thru XP doesn't see my HD free space. How do I make the installer see I have gigs of HD space?

I'm trying to install Bane from the Ultimate Wizardry Archives CD. The Bane installer wants to install Bane from A: instead of the cd drive. How do I work around this? TIA infael

The mount commands worked but I'm unable to change to the cdrom to install.

I have the Ultimate Wizardry Archives but the CD only has the first 4 games on it. I can see the top of 2 buttons at the bottom of the screen. I changed my screen res to 800x600 to see if that'd bring the buttons in sight but no dice. I believe I only got the 1 cd. Were there 2 different versions of …

I installed Wiz Gold (bought it). I get a blank screen when I run it, outside of Dfend. Using Dfend, the game just never loads. I set compatibility to win95 with 256 colors. Anyone know how to get this game running? TIA infael

Ultima 7 mouse problem

I've got the game running but my game cursor is frozen. I can move with the Windows cursor but not interact with anything. I'm using Dbox .63 and Dfend v2. In the General tab of Dfend, I increased the mouse sensitivity to 900, then 1000 with no luck. Anyone know how to fix this? TIA infael

I tried installing Apoc with mount c c:\ -freesize 1028 mount d d:\ -t cdrom. didn't work at all. I've XP SP2 with 7G free nvidia drivers 77.7, 768 MB ram. I'm about ready to give up even tho I really wanna play.

I'm now unable to find a place for -freesize 1028 in dfend. tried adding to the setup parameter in the profile setting tab but setup just hangs.

Now I'm getting somewhere. The installer is running, albeit without mouse control. No problem as I can use the keyboard for now. Now the problem is that the free space on my mounted drives are wrong. the installer only sees 105MB when I have at least 1 gig free.

I configured dfend to use my cd drive. During load, Dfend saw my cd drive correctly but I still got the exact same error. Cannot open l:\xcom3\xcom3

OK i'll look for config settings in Dfend. I got the "Cannot open l:\xcom3\xcom3" fron Dfend. I'm trying to use Dfend to install the game as a straight install didn't work.

Do I type the mount command after I get the Dfend error?
