Re: Atx form cards

I ended up finding some new old stock of this cards and decided to buy two. Does anyone know if the pinout is the same for all motherboards? I can't understand the pinout in my motherboard manual, few pins match but the rest it doesn't seem to make any sense. MB Manual: https://theretroweb.com/ …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Ok, I'm stupid. Move along folks, nothing to see here. I was using the wrong command on DOS. Instead of using the parameter for MT-32 I ended up using the one for GM. Fun fact 1: Built in MUNT didn't give a damn about the GM parameter, it just played the right instruments. Fun fact 2: Even with the …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Ripthron, did you use the 'old' or the 'new' MT-32 roms? Also is your MT-32 a 'old' or 'new' unit? Another thing you can try, is to use the external MUNT emulator with DOSBox-X to check if the behaviour is the same. I just tested with the built in MUNT on DOSBOX-X and it worked without problems, …

Wengier wrote on 2021-02-11, 04:15: Ripthron: The MT32 feature in DOSBox-X is based on the latest MUNT 2.4.0 driver. I do not have a real MT32 to try yet, so I am not really sure which one is the incorrect one (need more checking). The second file with DOSBox-X name is the incorrect one.

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Did anyone here try to play Secret of Monkey Island talkie on Dosbox-X 0.83.10 with a real MT-32? For some reason it decided to play with wrong instruments. Wing Commander and Space Quest 1 VGA works fine. Monkey Island Talkie works fine on SCUMMVM. I have attached audio files for anyone who is …

Re: Kawai GMEGA - Broken display?

The Kawai Gmega uses a generic Hitachi HD4478 based 16x2 display afaik. Any of those from AliExpress will probably do. Maybe you'd have to fiddle a little to align it (don't know if the screw holes match) but it should be possible. Did the same twice with both my Roland RA-50's :) Thanks for the …

Re: Kawai GMEGA - Broken display?

I opened it and didn't see anything that could be used to adjust the display. I couldn't remove the secondary pcb, but I looked with the camera and didn't see anything that looks like a trim pot or a dial. I doubt it is between the display's pcb and faceplate Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it too …

Re: Update SC-55 ROM

I've had issues with my SC-55 mk2 when trying to play Blood. The issue is, almost none of the songs play correctly (almost all instruments are wrong, notes won't play, etc.). I just discovered that my SC-55 mk2 ROM version is 1.00. Funny thing is, the setup music works just fine and other games …

Re: Kawai GMEGA - Broken display?

It could also be a solder joint or capacitor issue. Better to open it and check everything anyway. I opened it and didn't see anything that could be used to adjust the display. I couldn't remove the secondary pcb, but I looked with the camera and didn't see anything that looks like a trim pot or a …

Re: Kawai GMEGA - Broken display?

Open it up and see if there is this type of trim pot that could adjust the brightness. trim.jpg I thought that could be it and I asked the seller if it didn't have an internal slider/knob/pot and he said no, it was through the panel. He also said he would ask a friend who has a similar device how …

Re: Kawai GMEGA - Broken display?

That looks like someone adjusted the contrast wrongly on the display. Check the manual (available from Kawai USA) to see whether it can be adjusted (it will either be a knob on the module or a setting in the menus). It can also mean a failed display, although normally when they fade over time you …

Kawai GMEGA - Broken display?

I googled a little bit and noticed that in this forum some people had this model, so I decided to ask here I found one relatively for cheap, so I ended up buying. When I turned on the device I noticed that the display looked a little strange, the information was only readable if I looked at it from …
