Converted sf2 to tts with a tool from one of the EWS64-Terratec-CDs. Original is from deemster, "AWE64 Gold Presets" see here Soundfonts that mimic old hardware (SC-55, DX50XG, AWE64 Gold) It did load and sounds played, but I haven't tested it any further for accuracy. 1.12 MiB

I guess it's all about VIA's chipset AGP problems. Maybe this helps. Don't install VIA's AGP Driver on Win2000 & XP, Windows should have stable drivers included. What I've always wondered: can it do 640x480 with high refresh rates on the D-Sub port with out skipping frames? What might be a game to test? Usually the monitors that cannot do this are ones that can't really do more than 60 refresh. This monitor can go up to 144 and does true 70 when in 720x400. …

How about comparing the same sky in Q3DM1 or Q3DM5. The blocks are less noticeable in the yellow sky.

AFAIR the blocky color transitions were much stronger visible in the red sky of Quake3. In Q3DM1 for example. The screenshots that I posted show only the S3TC problem.

Fantastic result, I guess it's a K6-III+ right? Please tell us more about your system specs. What driver version are you using on your GF3? Det. 7.76 seems to work very well, I have seen a 3DMark2000 result with 5032 3D marks on a K6-III+ @720 MHz.
