Even a fast overclocked K6-3+ is about equal to a P2-300, so I think that's about right. So, even for 1999 titles, it's far from optimal. I just happen to like the platform 😀

As is the second gameport. They share a single input register... Both have 4 bits: Button 1 Button 2 X-axis Y-axis So two joysticks can fit in 1 byte. Which is at 201h. Huh. No, they were mostly available on P2/P3 motherboards, which is kinda pointless. It might work using DDMA. Und you're right, the MIDI on these cards is awesome 😎

Ian, have I told you that you're the man? You're the man!!! Had a friend visit today with his EPROM programmer and UV eraser. The patched '90 award BIOS worked flawlessly at once! I can finally run every type of HDD and boot from every floppy I want 😎 Many, many thanks!

Look, the connector on your sound card clearly has to be marked as something. Either IDE, Panasonic, Sony, or Mitsumi. Or not, it's Creative, after all. However, being that the CT2740 seems to be a later card, I strongly suspect it's an IDE port.

No way - the patched BIOS has been created two months after I initially started working on the Toshiba, which explains why I didn't find it earlier. If this works, the whole XTIDE / XT-CF ordeal won't have been necessary. Oh well.

So it seems the T5200 in that regard has the same limitation as the T3200SX (at least in higher BIOS versions). If it has ISA expansion boards next to the XT-CF another solution could be an I/O card with an IDE header, which should let you boot from it as the boot limitations present from the BIOS …

The K6-3+ runs happily with 2V. At least mine does. And that is a pretty case, looks older than the guts in it. The fake wood panel is a nice touch 😀
